Rebecca Apodaca, President/CEO, and Head Technician of A & D Music, Incorporated is of Navajo/Mexican decent. Apodaca was born in Los Angeles and raised in Orange County. A Laguna Beach local, Apodaca shares her culture through music and art. A variety of components from horns, violins and fretted instruments become a new form of artwork. Her pieces sometimes reflect her political view, as with her piece, Music without Borders, or her comedic expression of the trials of many musicians in her piece, Nuthin’ but the Blues.
Apodaca has a degree in music; is a State Certified musical instrument repair technician and is certification through University of California, Irvine in Appraisal Studies of Fine & Decorative Art specializing in Musical Instruments. “The life never really goes out of a musical instrument. Like us, it only transitions into another form,” says Apodaca.
